University of Michigan AI Talk

On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, the Department of Computing, Information and Mathematical Sciences, and Technology (CIMST) at Chicago State University welcomed Mr. Christopher Clarke, a PhD candidate from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, as a guest speaker. Dr. Mohammad Abdus Salam, Chair of the CIMST Department, introduced Mr. Clarke to the audience, setting the stage for an insightful and engaging lecture.

Mr. Clarke presented his research on “Towards Enhanced Human-AI Interaction: A Holistic Approach to Personalization in Natural Language Processing,” offering valuable insights into how AI systems can be customized to better meet individual users' needs. His work is inspired by the research of Professor Dr. Jason Mars, who explores "Generative AI: From the Surge to the Era of Compilation," contributing to advancements in AI capabilities.

The talk was warmly received by faculty and students, with faculty members Dr. Jan-Jo Chen and Dr. Rae-Anne Montague in attendance, along with a large group of graduate students eager to learn about the latest developments in AI.
